How to delete your TikTok account
TikTok is free, so quitting means deleting the account. It has to be done in the app — the website only sends you there.

Step by step
- Open TikTok and go to Profile.
- Tap the menu and open Settings and privacy.
- Choose Account, then Deactivate or delete account.
- Select Delete account and follow the prompts.
Watch out for
- Deactivating is reversible; deleting is permanent after about 30 days.
- You may need to verify with a code sent to your phone or email.
- Download your videos first — they’re gone afterwards.
